Prior to this, the Toron-kai held by Keio Gijuku and similar debates not only took the form of stating their own positions, but also stating the views that had led to and informed these positions. In contrast to this, in the Toron-kai of the liberal civil rights movement the debaters merely stated their positions. Furthermore, the position of the organization hosting the debate tended to be the side that won the debate, so that organizing such debates and bringing them to successful conclusions became difficult. 内容記述 | In the liberal civil rights movement, the practice of debating (Toron-kai) spread throughout Japan. Prior to this, the Toron-kai held by Keio Gijuku and similar debates not only took the form of stating their own positions, but also stating the views that had led to and informed these positions. In contrast to this, in the Toron-kai of the liberal civil rights movement the debaters merely stated their positions. Furthermore, the position of the organization hosting the debate tended to be the side that won the debate, so that organizing such debates and bringing them to successful conclusions became difficult. As a result, it became impossible to expect much depth in education through the exchange of views or opinions. | |||||
