Though several versions are already available in Japanese, the translator has attempted a new translation of this elusive manifesto on the basis of his own overall interpretation of Lessing’s philosophy of religion. The translation is based on vol.13 of the standard edition of Lachmann and Muncker, Gotthold Ephraim Lessings Sämtlich Schriften (1886-1924, reprinted in 1968). The translator has benefited from Henry Chadwick’s superb English translation wherever the meaning of sentences was ambiguous due to complicated syntax and/or the frequent use of rhetoric.}, pages = {119--138}, title = {レッシング『人類の教育』}, volume = {第9巻}, year = {1996}, yomi = {ヤスカタ, トシマサ} }
