The reason is that there is no consensus about obtaining informed consent from terminally-ill cancer patients or other dying patients. In this study a questionnaire was used regarding cancer notification, informed consent, and the impressions formed of doctors and nurses by various kinds of patients. University students were surveyed regarding implicit personality theory as applied to the human relationships of doctors and nurses to patients. Students understand the concept of informed consent, and they desire to know the diagnosis from the chief doctors before the doctors tell it to the family. Moreover, the structure and process of forming impressions of the patients by the doctors and nurses was discovered. Patients also formed their impressions of the doctors and nurses. Most important was the ability, activity and gentleness of the doctors and nurses toward the patients.
