 note = {This paper focuses on the pursuit of better music in education. It consists of three chapters. The first chapter is the analysis of a survey of the musical experience―beginning in childhood―of Seigakuin University Department of Child Studies students who are in the teacher-training program. In the second chapter the author reports on the experience of his experimental teaching method. He has been organizing his class so that students improvise music in an ensemble with instruments they have made. In chapter three the author considers what is “better music” in education on the basis of the two reports regarding the musical experience of the students.},
