 note = {Rapid urbanization and development of Metropolitan Tokyo and its vicinities have damaged their original rich landscape which has been called Musashino or mixed forest at Kanto Plain.　The district has obtained prosperity of materialism at the cost of loss of the blessed landscape of woods and groves preserved for centuries up until the Economic Growth post war.　Nevertheless it is noticed and recognized that the remainder has been preserved at some spots of fringe and suburban area of Tokyo.　Coppice woods and grove of Ohya-Nannbu, or the southern part of Ohya area and the study area of this paper, have survived through the abnormally fast economic development of the capital city of the nation. Ohya-Nannbu in Ageo City, including Tosaki where Seigaku-in University extends its campus, has been a precious area that holds semi-natural environment of traditional conserved forest in it.　The author organized the Ohya-Nannbu Environment and Development Committee within the City Planning Bureau in August 1996 and has conducted research for adequate planing of land use management of the area since then. Along with the former study report of “Environmental Conservation Problems of Ohya-Nannbu, Ageo City” (Vol. 15 No.1, Oct.2002), this research was supported financially by the budget for suburban area development and conservation research of the National Domain Agency (Vice Minister order No.111 of April 3rd. Heisei 7, 1995). The author has been contributed to Ageo City, a municipality in Saitama Prefecture as the chairperson for Ageo City Environmental Council for ten years since the establishment of it in 1994.　And this study was conducted as a part of the public service of the chairperson’s office.　Suitable measures should be taken for the conservation of the woods landscape of the area and this paper would make a contribution at the execution scene of the administration of the city.},
