While the scale of the operation of the Scholarship Project of the Japan Student Services Organization is expanding, the amount of national taxes used to support the Scholarship Project continues to decline, even though the money is used to support honor students through the Fiscal Investment and Loan Program (FILP). However, a profit is made by the Scholarship Project, and the source of this profit is interest from scholarships and a fine for late payment of any fees involved.
