The analysis reveals an underlying motif shared by both the future direction of U.S. management education and a paradigm change in teaching and learning effected through the promotion of active learning.  The article examines the significance of the interrelationship between this latent motif and the paradigm change and discusses its implications for higher education in Japan.},
