This trend reflects the demand for understanding the relations between records and donors with responses to born-digital manuscripts (those originating in digital form) or personal digital archives as unprecedented materials.  However, ARM has traditionally focused on the relation between records and archival organizations.  In Japan, research and practices that ensure long-term access to personal digital records remain overlooked: both PIM and PDA are neglected.
