It is also a response to critiques asserting that the sin of sensuality takes a secondary position to the primary sin of pride and is, therefore, a deviation from reality.  I delineate a proper understanding of the relationship between pride and sensuality in Niebuhr’s conceptualization, thereby clarifying that such criticism is invalid. Additionally, my reply addresses the critiques of Niebuhr’s theology of sin that are made primarily by feminist theologians.  In some cases, it becomes evident that their positions are based upon a misunderstanding of Niebuhr’s thought.  Moreover, I demonstrate that a further development of Niebuhr’s theology should be undertaken, particularly in relation to the feminist “sin of hiding.”［Editor1］},
