First, I discuss the phonetic characteristics of [r] and intonation in British English and American English, and then I demonstrate the phonetic phenomenon of the aspirated sound in [t] in British English using a spectrogram.  Next, I discuss the differences in vocabulary and spelling between the United Kingdom and the United States, which have rarely been touched on in Japanese English education.  Then, I compare aspects of American and British grammar and culture before discussing three different cultures that historically had a great influence on Japan: Chinese, British, and American cultures.
