 note = {本稿は，旧学習指導要領（平成20年告示）において，小学校第4学年～第6学年の夏休み理科自由研究の実践をまとめたものである。低い学年の方が自由研究に対し，頑張り，楽しみ，今後も取り組みたい傾向がある，ということがわかった。また，自由研究テーマの分類に関して，学年間に有意差はなかった。そして，児童の振り返りに関する記述から，自由研究の取り組み方について考察し，整理した。, This paper gives a brief description of the practice of free science research during the summer vacation for the 4th to 6th grades of elementary school under the old Course of Study (announced in 2008).  It was found that students in lower grades tended to work hard and enjoy themselves, and wanted to continue working on free research.  In addition, there was no significant difference between grades in the classification of free research themes.  Furthermore, based on the description of the children’s reflection, the authors analyzed and suggested how to approach the free research.},
