Through curriculum based on training students in basic learning skills, freshmen learn for example, how to take notes, how to make reports, how to discuss topics, and how to present the results of their research. This paper explores two fundamental concepts of educational activity: the ladder, that is, the university students progress in reaching a certain level in life; and the rite of passage, i.e., 'initiation.' Through investigation of these concepts the complexity of university education is illustrated.}, pages = {105--119}, title = {初年次教育と知育}, volume = {第22巻}, year = {2009}, yomi = {テラサキ, ケイコ} }
