Four concepts are used: A. Relational Strength, B. Symmetricalness of Relational Strength, C. Psychological Distance, and D. Psychological Domain. The experimental design followed Guttman’s Facet Design. The two metrical methods used to estimate the relational strength were the multi-dimensional paired comparison type of C. Hayashi and the Semantic Differential type of K. Maruyama. The experimental objects were ten famous statesmen whose interpersonal relationships were judged in pairs and in groups of three by university students in 1972. The results indicated the effectiveness of the hypothesis in dealing with concepts of cognitive interpersonal relationships and socio-metrical approaches in the Eij-type and Eijk-type quantification methods of C.
