Consideration was given to effects observed in the activities of parent and child based on descriptions of their participatory activities in hospital treatment in which the child, due to the onset of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, came to live at a far remove from its ordinary daily life. In addition, a qualitative analysis of these descriptions was made using activity theory, as well as EBM (evidence based medicine) and NBM(narrative based medicine)concepts employed by health care providers.
