His ‘subjective value theory’ in particular greatly influenced posterity. Menger’s achievement made him one of the leading proponents of ‘marginal revolution’ and he has become one of the leading names in the history of economic theory. Menger had the goodfortune to have F. von. Wieser, Eugen von Bohm-Bawerk, and so on succeed him in his work, and thus the Austrian School was formed. J. A. Schumpeter, F. Mieses, and F. von Hayek came from the Austrian School.
