In order to provide such students with opportunities to talk with Japanese speakers, group discussions were held in which identical numbers of Japanese students and international students participated. For these discussions a format called “World Cafe” was adopted which has a few distinctive characteristics. This paper presents the results of interviews with international students who participated in the discussions regarding what they thought about having discussions that involved Japanese students and what their opinions of World Cafe style discussions were.},
