The educational environment and the university community environment surrounding international students changed significantly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  In this context, it is important to understand the students’ experiences while studying abroad.  Data were collected, using questionnaires and interviews, from five international students at a private university in Tokyo, and the results were analyzed using SCAT.  The results showed generally limited impacts on, or changes to, the students’ sense of community as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic.
